Virtual Tour
I have the best family in the world... They have made my week today.
I just received a DVD that my dad and sister made for me over the past few weeks. They have asked my extended family to record a message for me and they have put in on a DVD. My little sis Catherine also made me a whole virtual tour of our house in St-Jérôme so I can see what has changed since I left. This is just what I needed to not feel too far away from home... I almost cried watching it... They also sent me a bunch of pictures from this summer, including pictures from one of my good friend's wedding. I am so happy to be able to keep up with them although I am really far away.
Apart from that, I have nad another busy week... (What else is new!) Banff is gearing up for Christmas and this weekend, the town kicked off their Winterstart festival with several events. My friends and I checked out the Santa's Parade on Saturday night before heading back to Canmore for some Christmas decorating. Here are some pictures!
This is my friend Tanis, warming up with some coffee while waiting for the parade to start.
My good friend Rachel, with her brother Andrew, in the background. Also warming up with some coffee. Our coffees took so long to be made that we almost missed the parade! :)
Michael & Michelle, all smile! I was really glad to finally meet Michelle. I was starting to think Michael was making you up. Finally I have proof that he really has a girlfriend (and not an imaginary one!)
One of the many snowmen present for the parade. The picture is a bit blurry but at least you get the idea of how cute the town is when all lit up with Christmas lights...
On Sunday, I was back on the slopes with some friends. It was absolutely beautiful. We woke up to a few new inches of snow and couldn't wait to get to the hill. We were not disappointed when we got there. It was gorgeous, with fresh powder tracing our trails. It was excellent! I am still a bit soar from it and hopefully will get back to full form soon!
Saturday night, my brother and friends went to the U2 concert in Montreal. I had a ticket for the show but had to let it go after realising that I could not afford a trip home for just that. I hear the show was amazing and the crowd tantalizing. J'espère que vous avez eu une super soirée. J'aurais aimé être avec vous... Je vais vous voir bientôt, durant les Fêtes. J'ai hâte que vous arriviez!
I guess that's it for now. Jack, my "brother" (long-long time friend) is stopping by Banff today. He is a flight attendant and in Calgary to a few days and gets here tonight. I am really excited to see him! This is my official Christmas kick-off of friends and family being around for a while...
Stef gets here on the 28th of Dec, Marc & Yves on the 31st, Myriam & Pat probably around the 8th (until approx. the 16th). Then I'm off to Spain and Morocco... Good times will be had! I'm out for now...
Love you much,
Your sister, friend, niece, cousin, or other,
Annik, xxx
