Officially official...

Big news: it's official! Shane and I are engaged...

This is how it all went down. On Valentine's Day, we were going back to work so we went out for dinner for a romantic night on the Friday night before. (Friday the 13th, hehe!) We went to the Rimrock where we started dating just about 3 years ago. But when Shane called earlier in the week, he was told that the same table does not exist anymore. It's apparently a maitre d' station. So we did go back and found a table but the place was really really busy because of it was family day weekend. So we decided not to stay and head over to the sushi train instead. We love the train and eat there just about every time we're home. It's a small restaurant, with at the most about 20 people, where the chef is making sushi from the center of the room and everybody sits around him. He then puts the food on a electric train which runs around the room and you take your food from it.

So after eating dinner, Shane had arranged with the chef to have the ring put on a plate with some candles and put on the train. I didn't notice it until it was almost right up to me. The whole restaurant saw the ring coming along and stopping talking, curious to see who it was for. When finally it arrived next to me, Shane "suggested" I took that plate and put the ring on my finger. The whole restaurant clapped and congratulated us. It was nice and casual, and really us. Plus the ring is beautiful! Shane did a really good job...

So we're back at the lodge for two weeks and working away. Things are good and busy and I'm working on figuring out what to do as soon as the season is over (which is coming rather quickly). Not sure what will be happening yet. I'm hoping to work at the lodge with Shane over the summer, but I won't know if that will be a go or not for another while. I'm also looking at other options for the moment and looking forward to knowing what the next step is. My mom is coming to visit for a week or so in March and it'll be super nice to see her. And spend time with Myriam, who is moving back from Calgary to Quebec.

In the meantime, I'm going back to work for the night. Break time is over... :)

Cheers,
